If pandas are your main reason for visiting Beijing Zoo, keep the plan focused. Start with the panda area, leave room for a slower walk, and avoid trying to fit the entire zoo into a short break.
Ticket and opening information
The Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks published an opening notice on 15 July 2026 for the panda house’s reopening on 16 July. Its peak-season details are below.

These are published peak-season details, checked on 6 September 2026. Confirm the arrangements for your date, including admission cutoffs, before leaving. Do not assume the same hours or prices apply in winter.
A suggested short visit
- Before leaving: choose your date, check the ticket type and agree on a specific entrance or meeting point. A generic zoo map pin may not identify the gate you intend to use.
- Start with what matters: make the panda area the first priority, allowing for entrance checks and queues.
- Leave some breathing room: use the rest of your visit for a walk through the grounds, photos or a break. A meal works better as an optional stop than a fixed promise.
Will the pandas be active?
There is no guaranteed “best moment” during a visit. Panda activity varies, and the plan does not include reserved viewing, feeding access or queue-skipping. Give yourself time to watch rather than expecting a performance.
Inside the viewing area, follow the posted rules: keep voices low, avoid flash, and do not feed the animals or tap the glass.
